Voters complain about late commencement of voting at FCT’s Dutse Alhaji Ward 028
As election exercise kicked off across Nigeria, voters on Saturday expressed their frustration at Dutse Alhaji polling unit 37-02-07-028 in Bwari Local Government Area (LGA) Abuja, over the late arrival and setting up by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
While lection is to commenced 8:30 and end at 2:30, but it did not commence at polling unit 28, Dutse Alhaji polling unit until 11:30.
A voter, Stephen Olarinde told our reporter that he arrived at his polling unit by 7:30 waiting for INEC official and “They finally came by 9:40 with only their BVAS, but refused to set up.
“When we asked them why, they said another Adhoc staff in the same bus that brought them to the polling unite, mistakenly took their result sheet and polling box, but that another colleague had gone to look for it.”
He lamented further that after they retrieved the result sheet and ballot box the BVAS took over 30mins to boot before voting finally commenced by 11:30am.
