Senator Elisha Abbo has called for withdrawal of appointment of Justice Chioma Nwosu – Iheme into the Supreme Court, for deliberately skewed judgement that led to the nullification of his mandate as Senator representing Adamawa at the Appeal Court.

Justice Chioma Nwosu – Iheme was among the 11 Justices from the Court of Appeal nominated for vacant seats at the Supreme Court by President Bola Tinubu in December last year as recommended by the National Judicial Council and later confirmed by the Senate .

Senator Abbo who spoke at a press conference on Wednesday alleged that Justice Chioma Nwosu – Iheme carried out judicial banditry on his mandate with the lead judgement she delivered on Monday , October 16, 2023 , upturning his mandate  in favour of PDP candidate thsat he defeated with over 11,000 votes.

Senator Abbo represented Adamawa North in the 9th  Senate and won re- election into the 10th Senate before nullification of his mandate  by the Court of Appeal in October last year.

” The kernel of my submission at this press conference is that the appointment of Justice Chioma Nwosu – Iheme into the Supreme Court , is not good for our judicial system and dispensation of Justice,” he said

” Justice Chioma Nwosu – Iheme is among some Justices in the country , carrying out judicial coup against democracy in Nigeria . Justices like her should not be allowed to get to the Supreme court.

” President Bola Tinubu should please in line with his renewed hope mantra , terminate the appointment of Justice Chioma Nwosu – Iheme into the Supreme Court to save our judiciary from Judicial bandits .

” For required punishment and deterrence,  I have filed petitions against Justice Chioma Nwosu – Iheme, Justice Olabode Adegbehingbe and Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Sirajo to the National Judicial Council and Chief Justice of Nigeria ( CJN)  over their judgement in the electoral case between Reverend Amos Kumai of the PDP and me.

” The said Justices of the Court of Appeal gave a deliberately skewed judgement against me , which should be critically looked into “
