Concisedaily Newsonline– In a bid to accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has unveiled its strategic vision for 2025.

At a high-profile virtual stakeholders’ forum held on December 20, 2024 which centered on the draft Application-to-Person (A2P) Licensing Framework, NCC showcased its commitment to fostering transparency, innovation, and consumer empowerment in the telecommunications sector.

Speaking at the forum, the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida, introduced a groundbreaking initiative: coverage maps generated from crowd-sourced data.

“These maps will enable consumers to assess the performance of mobile network operators in their localities, fostering competition and improving service quality nationwide,” he said.

Dr. Maida also reiterated the commission’s priorities for 2025, which include strengthening consumer protection, combating telecommunications fraud, and ensuring a level playing field for operators. “These efforts are part of a broader strategy to establish a resilient and sustainable telecommunications ecosystem in Nigeria,” he said.

The forum attracted a diverse mix of industry stakeholders who applauded the NCC’s forward-thinking agenda.

Their engagement underscored a collective commitment to driving innovation and ensuring regulatory excellence as Nigeria solidifies its leadership in Africa’s telecommunications space.

The NCC’s 2025 strategy reinforced its role as a catalyst for industry growth and a champion of digital inclusion, setting the stage for transformative advancements in the years ahead.
